A rippling caustics pattern was superimposed on a pulsating kaleidoscope/ink-blot pattern to create a trippy background for the Caterpillar’s scene.

The fans that created the Cheshire Cat were lit using a projected “rippling tiger stripes” pattern that followed the puppet around the stage like a follow spot thanks to a series of Isadora triggers.
